The Tili Wine Italy Guest Homes competition – run in collaboration with boutique winery, Tili Vini Italy – tasked participants with designing a collection of five guest homes located on the winery’s property that could each accommodate a couple.

First prize winners Adil Yirmibeş and Ozan Yalçın from Turkey designed a series of rectangular structures around a central courtyard, restoring the existing two-storey building as a wine-tasting space. The jury found the project to be an “elegant proposal that artfully incorporates the existing building and sustainable local materials.”

Second prize winner Mariana Lorga Simões from Portugal designed a series of small burgundy-red colored buildings with pitched roofs and a shared rooftop space for stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Third prize winners David Cirocchi and Angelo Brollo from Italy took a different approach. They designed simple white buildings that are employed as an archetype of the traditional Umbrian rural home, primordial and sculptural elements set at right angles to form a semi-enclosed courtyard amidst the otherwise open vineyard.
