Buildner is thrilled to present the winners of its inaugural Architect’s Chair Competition, showcasing the interdisciplinary essence of architecture. Chair design, blending architecture, design, and art, demonstrates architects' adaptability across various scales and contexts, pushing boundaries of aesthetics, materials, and technology.

Architects and designers worldwide were invited to submit designs for signature chairs, echoing the legacies of iconic figures like Charles and Ray Eames. The esteemed jury panel, comprising experts from architecture, product, and furniture design, meticulously evaluated entries based on functionality, aesthetics, materiality, craftsmanship, and versatility.

The competition received entries from across the globe, reflecting a diverse exchange of ideas and creativity. Buildner extends gratitude to all participants for their contributions and congratulates the winners for their outstanding designs, epitomizing precision, craftsmanship, and innovation.

The first prize was awarded to Marco De Gregorio from Spain for his creation, "Bunker Stuhl," a cutting-edge volume resembling a brutalist architectural structure. Crafted from 100% recyclable polyethylene, the environmentally-friendly chair balances massiveness with delicate edges, offering a seamless blend of functionality and aesthetics.  Appareil Atelier in collaboration with: Les Jardins de Métis and L'Autre Atelier from Canada, clinched the second prize with "The Elsie Chair," paying tribute to classic bentwood chairs of the 19th century. Emad Lajevardi from Germany secured the third prize with "Purvottanasana Chair," showcasing radical minimalism and geometric purity, accentuating the intrinsic beauty of wooden material.
