Vit Forman and Katerina Kruskova from Czech Republic
We met last year and decided to do a few projects together.
Vit graduated from the international Master’s of Architecture degree at KU Leuven in Belgium 4 years ago. Since then he has worked as a property manager and currently works as freelancer architect.
Katerina finished her Bachelor’s degree in Product Design Studio at Jan Evangelista Purkyne University last year. Currently she is studying for her Master’s degree at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle in Germany, she also works as a product designer for the company Baagl.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where company/ individuals have been involved?
We like to focus on projects where we can blend architecture and product design attitudes together. So basically it means small architecture that focuses on details and materials.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture for us is our lifestyle. It‘s at the center of our interests everytime and everywhere.
Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?
The coffee culture is also quite strong in Prague, various coffee shops are everywhere around the city. So it was challenging for us to design when we noticed the competition.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?
It can pull you out of your everyday design routine and let you think about different design attitudes.
