PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION

3.1. Competitions are open to any Participant aged 18 and over.

3.2. Participant Teams must consist of at least two (2) and no more than four (4) individuals. All Team Members must satisfy the identity-verification requirements set out in Section 3.6.C at the time they join the Team.

3.3. A Participant (including any member of a Participant Team) cannot participate and will be disqualified and forfeit all Competition Awards and any Medal qualification obtained through the Competition if the Participant or any Team Member is or becomes:

3.3.1. a minor under age 18;

3.3.2. a resident of, or ordinarily resident in North Korea;

3.3.3. otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls or sanctions;

3.3.4. a resident in any jurisdiction where Competitions are prohibited by law;

3.3.5. a current employee, intern, contractor, officer, or director of the Organizer or the Jury, or an associate or family member thereof.

3.4. By registering for the Competition and/or providing a Submission, the Participant certifies full compliance with these Terms.

3.5. The Organizer may verify a Participant’s eligibility at any time and may request proof. Failure to provide proof within five (5) days may result in disqualification.

3.6. REGISTRATION METHODS Participants may register through one of two methods: (a) the Standard Registration Model; or (b) the AN+ Registration Model. Registration for any Competition is valid only if completed through one of these two methods. All Participants and team members must complete identity verification as set out in Section 3.6.C.

3.6.A. Standard Registration Model

3.6.A.1. All Participants and all team members must complete identity verification on the Architects’ Network platform (https://an.pro) in accordance with Section 3.6.C before: (a) validating a Unique Identification Code (UIC); or (b) joining a Competition Team.

3.6.A.2. After successful verification, the Participant pays the applicable Registration Fee on the Portal. Upon successful payment, the system generates a Unique Identification Code (“UIC”).

3.6.A.3. After receiving the UIC, the Participant logs into the Portal using the Architects’ Network authentication tool.

3.6.A.4. For individual participation, the Participant must select “One-Time Registration” and enter the UIC to complete registration.

3.6.A.5. For team participation, the first Participant who enters the UIC becomes the team leader. Other team members must: (a) log into the Portal; (b) select “Join Existing Team”; (c) enter the team leader’s UIC; and (d) await approval by the team leader. Team members must also hold an active verification status on the Architects’ Network platform at the moment of joining the Team. Unconfirmed team members will not appear in the Competition results and will not be eligible to receive a Competition Award or participate in the Medal through the Participant Team’s Submission.

3.6.A.6. Participants and team members must hold an active verification status at the moment a UIC is validated or a Team Member is added to a Competition Team. Subsequent cancellation, expiration, downgrade, or loss of verification status shall not invalidate an already validated UIC, a valid Competition registration, Team membership, or eligibility for Competition Awards or Medal qualification.

3.6.A.7. The Organizer may transfer Participant data to the Jury and other relevant partners involved in the operation of the Competition, in accordance with the Portal Privacy Policy.

3.6.B. AN+ Registration Model

3.6.B.1. The AN+ Registration Model is available only to Participants who hold an active AN+ subscription at the moment of claiming an AN+ Registration.

3.6.B.2. An AN+ Subscriber may register for any Competition that is open for registration at the moment the Subscriber initiates the process, provided the Competition supports AN+ Registration.

3.6.B.3. AN+ Registration does not guarantee access to all Competitions. Certain Competitions may be invitation-only, restricted in capacity, subject to qualification requirements, or otherwise unavailable for AN+ Registration.

3.6.B.4. Only the team leader must be an AN+ Subscriber in order to claim an AN+ Registration. Other team members are not required to subscribe but must complete identity verification in accordance with Section 3.6.C. Team Members may be added until the Submission deadline and must hold an active verification status at the moment they join the Team.

3.6.B.5. An AN+ Subscriber may claim one (1) AN+ Registration per calendar month. Unused monthly entitlements do not accumulate, roll over, or transfer.

3.6.B.6. To claim an AN+ Registration, the Subscriber must: (a) log into the Portal using the account linked to their AN+ subscription; (b) select the “Free Registration” option; and (c) choose an eligible Competition. Upon confirmation, the Competition is automatically added to the Participant’s profile.

3.6.B.7. AN+ Registrations may be claimed only through the Portal as described above. Purchasing a Registration Fee–based entry and later requesting a refund on the grounds of AN+ eligibility is not permitted.

3.6.B.8. Once claimed, an AN+ Registration is final and cannot be revoked, transferred, reassigned to another Competition, applied to another Participant, or reassigned to a different team leader.

3.6.B.9. If an AN+ subscription is cancelled, downgraded, or expires after an AN+ Registration has been validly claimed, the claimed Competition entry remains valid.

3.6.B.10. The Organizer may limit, suspend, or restrict AN+ Registration availability for specific Competitions without prior notice.

3.6.B.11. Misuse of the AN+ Registration Model—including maintaining multiple accounts, transferring or trading AN+ entitlements, exploiting system loopholes, or providing false information—may result in disqualification, revocation of Competition entries, and prohibition from future participation.

3.6.B.12. If a Participant obtains an unlawful refund, chargeback, or reversal relating to any AN+ subscription or onboarding payment, all associated Competition registrations will be cancelled and removed, any Competition Awards and Medal qualification obtained through those Competition registrations revoked, and legal action may be taken to recover losses and damages.

3.6.C. Identity Verification Requirements

3.6.C.1. All Participants and team members must complete identity verification on the Architects’ Network platform (https://an.pro) before: (a) validating a Unique Identification Code (UIC); or (b) joining a Competition Team. An active verification status is required only at the moment of UIC validation or Team joining.

3.6.C.2. Verification may include submission of government-issued identification, biometric checks, and other secure identity-verification measures. Verification is conducted by a certified third-party provider under strict data-protection standards.

3.6.C.3. Identity verification on the Architects’ Network platform is subject to the verification fee published on the platform at the time of verification.

3.6.C.4. Verification status remains active only while the Participant maintains an active verification status on the Architects’ Network platform. If the verification plan is cancelled, expires, or is downgraded, the Participant’s verification status may be removed. The removal of verification status shall not affect any previously validated UIC, Team membership, Competition registration, or eligibility for Competition Awards or Medal qualification that was validly established while the Participant held an active verification status.

3.6.C.5. Failure to complete identity verification when required may result in inability to validate a UIC, inability to join a Competition Team, disqualification, or removal from the Competition. Loss of verification status after a valid UIC has been validated or after a Team Member has successfully joined a Team shall not by itself result in disqualification.

SUBMISSIONS

4.1. All Submissions must be the original work of the Participant (or Participant Team). The visual materials of the Submission must not have been previously published by any of the Participant or members of Participant Teams. In case of detection of a violation of this term, the Organizer solely evaluates the significance of the violation. In case claims of a copyright violation are received regarding the concept or idea that are applicable to the competition assignment, the Organizer will evaluate the claim internally following these guidelines:

4.1.1. Design Concept Core Ideas and Themes

4.1.1.1. Comparison of Concepts: The Organizer will conduct an in-depth comparison of the underlying design concepts of both projects to determine whether the core ideas and themes are similar or if there are unique interpretations. This includes an examination of the architectural philosophy and objectives that guided each project.

4.1.1.2. Originality and Innovation: The Organizer will assess the level of originality and innovation in each design, focusing on how each project interprets its core concept uniquely. This will involve analyzing how the concept is manifested in the design and any novel approaches used in its development.

4.1.1.3. Influences and Inspirations: The investigation will consider documented influences and inspirations for both designs to understand the context in which they were developed. The Organizer will explore the historical, cultural, or personal influences that may have shaped the design choices and assess whether these influences are common or unique to each project.

4.1.2. Functional Elements Layout and Space Utilization

4.1.2.1. Spatial Organization: The Organizer will evaluate the spatial organization of each project, examining how spaces are arranged and interconnected. This includes analyzing the flow of movement, the relationship between different functional areas, and how efficiently the space is utilized.

4.1.2.2. Purpose and Functionality: The Organizer will assess whether the projects serve similar purposes or functions and identify any significant overlaps. This involves reviewing the intended use of each space and how well each design achieves its functional goals.

4.1.2.3. Design Efficiency: The investigation will examine the efficiency of the layout, including how well the design optimizes space usage, facilitates user interaction, and meets the needs of its intended occupants.

4.1.3. Aesthetic Features

4.1.3.1. Architectural Style: The Organizer will analyze the architectural style and visual language of both projects to identify any resemblances. This includes reviewing the overall form, structure, and stylistic elements that define each design.

4.1.3.2. Materials and Detailing: The Organizer will evaluate the choice of materials, construction techniques, and detailing used in each project. This involves comparing the textures, colors, finishes, and craftsmanship to determine if there are significant similarities.

4.1.3.3. Artistic Expression: The investigation will consider the artistic expression of each design, focusing on how aesthetics contribute to the project’s overall impact and character. The Organizer will assess the creativity and uniqueness of the visual elements and how they enhance the design concept.

4.1.4. Contextual Response

4.1.4.1. Environmental and Site-Specific Considerations: The Organizer will analyze how each design responds to its specific site and environmental conditions. This includes assessing how the design integrates with its surroundings, addresses site constraints, and takes advantage of natural features.

4.1.4.2. Cultural and Social Context: The Organizer will evaluate how each project reflects or responds to its cultural and social context. This involves reviewing the cultural significance of the design, its impact on the community, and how well it aligns with local values and traditions.

4.1.4.3. Sustainability and Environmental Impact: The Organizer will assess the sustainability features of each project, including energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmental impact. This evaluation will consider how each design incorporates sustainable practices and whether these elements are similar.

4.1.5. Request for Explanation If the Organizer deems it necessary, the Participant may be asked to provide a comprehensive explanation of their design process. This request may include:

4.1.5.1. Design Process: A detailed description of the design process, including the steps taken to develop the project and the reasoning behind key design decisions.

4.1.5.2. Sources of Inspiration: A clear identification of any sources of inspiration, including architectural works, cultural references, or other influences that have contributed to the design.

4.1.5.3. Evolution of Ideas: Documentation or explanation of how the project concept evolved from initial ideas to the final submission, highlighting any changes and innovations made during the development process.

4.1.6. The Organizer is not obligated to disclose the evaluation process or findings publicly. After the evaluation is conducted, an internal jury will determine whether the work is to be disqualified. The Organizer’s decision and evaluation are final and cannot be used as evidence or referenced in any legal action that may be initiated by third parties against the Participant (or Participant Team).

4.2. The Participant confirms that the Submission does not infringe any copyright, rights related to trademarks, trade secrets, designs or patents of any third party.

4.3. The Participant shall be ready to supply copyright licenses for images used if requested by Organizer. A failure to supply such licenses within the period specified by Organizer may be grounds for disqualification.

4.4. The Participant assumes full liability for any infringement of rights and acknowledges that any Submission in any significant breach of these rights may be grounds for disqualification (see Disqualification of Submissions Section). In case that a third-party asserts infringement of intellectual property rights against Organizer, the Participant shall be liable for all costs in relation to acts required to defend against such actions.

4.5. All Submissions must conform to the Terms and Conditions and the rules and guidelines set out in the Competition Brief. Any significant breach of this term may be grounds for disqualification (see Disqualification of Submissions Section).

4.6. All Submissions must be made solely through the specified upload panel within the Portal, access to which is granted upon valid Registration in accordance with Section 3.6. Submissions received by email or any other delivery method will not be considered.

4.7. The Participant may upload a Submission through the specified upload panel within the Portal at any time until 24.00, London Time, on the date of the Submission deadline. Upon the first successful upload of a Submission, the Submission may be automatically forwarded to the Organizer’s early project evaluation system. Following the first upload, the Participant may not modify, replace, edit, or re-upload the Submission unless the applicable edit reactivation fee or penalty fee has been paid through the Portal. Upon successful payment of such fee, the Participant shall be permitted to continue editing and re-uploading the Submission until the Submission deadline.

4.8. The Participant must submit a presentation panel or a series of panels as required by the specific competition. Each panel must be saved in the JPEG format (.jpg or .jpeg extensions) and the file size of each panel must not exceed 10 megabytes (MB) to ensure the integrity of the submission process on the Portal. The exact number of panels required will be determined by the competition brief, which will stipulate whether a single panel or up to four panels are necessary for the Participant's entry. It is the responsibility of the Participant to adhere to these specifications when preparing their design proposal for submission. Failure to comply with these format and size requirements may result in the disqualification of the Participant's submission.

4.9. The Participants are permitted to upload an unlimited number of submissions for the competition. In scenarios where additional submission options are available (applicable for selected competitions) and can be purchased at a discounted fee, these submissions must be linked to the same Unique Identification Code (UIC). Such additional submissions can be acquired either via the registration form or directly in the upload panel. It is imperative to note that the team associated with a given registration must remain consistent across all submissions made under that UIC. With a single registration, a team is enabled to submit multiple design proposals; however, the composition and information of the team must remain unchanged for all these submissions, ensuring equitable involvement and contribution from all team members. In cases where submissions involve different teams, distinct registrations are required for each team composition.

ENSURING THE INTEGRITY OF THE COMPETITION

5.1. The Participant must ensure that Submissions do not include any marks, logos, symbols, or signs that may identify its authority or source during the evaluation of the Submission by the Jury. Any significant breach of these rule may be grounds for disqualification (see Disqualification of Submissions Section).

5.2. The Participant may not approach or address any member of the Jury or the Commissioning Party during the Competition. Any breach of these rules will lead to immediate disqualification.

5.3. The Jury will be made aware of a Participant’s identity only after the winners are selected.

PUBLICITY

6.1. By registering for the Competition, the Participant acknowledges and agrees that all aspects of any Submission (including, but not limited to, narratives, descriptions, details, images, illustrations, photographs, and animations and names and images of the Participants) may be used by Organizer for publicity purposes across any media, including on third-party platforms, websites, news outlets, social media, and online publications, both related to Organizer’s competitions and general brand promotion.

6.2. The Participant agrees to participate in the promotional activities and the publicity arrangements for the Competition. The Organizer is authorised to use any and all statements made by the Participant in connection with the Competition without additional approval and consent.

6.3. The Organizer reserves the right to undertake promotional activities and/or publicity arrangements through the Portal or other channels, as well as to discontinue any of its activities and/or arrangements at any time.

6.4. Publications advertised or referenced in the Competition Brief are not binding on the Organizer. The Organizer shall make every effort to follow the announced publication schedule, but cannot be held responsible for publishers' decisions.

FEES AND COSTS

7.1. During Registration, the Participant must effect payment of the Registration Fee for the Competition, unless the Participant registers using the AN+ Registration Model in accordance with Section 3.6.B. In such cases, the Participant is exempt from payment of the Registration Fee for that Competition.

7.2. The Registration Fee is a payment for registration for the Competition, for data processing and for covering administrative costs.

7.2.1. During Registration for the Competition, the Participant chooses the terms of payment of the Registration Fee - the Participant is entitled to pay the Registration Fee in one payment or in three monthly payments. In case of monthly payment, at the time of registration the Participant pays the Registration Fee for the first month and makes payments for the remaining two months according to the payment schedule indicated at the time of registration. An additional fee is applied for dividing the Registration Fee into three monthly payments.

7.2.2. At the time of payment of the Registration Fee (or part thereof), the Participant undertakes to ensure that there are sufficient funds in his/her chosen payment method account to pay the full Registration Fee or the monthly payment of the Registration fee (depending on the participant's choice at registration).

7.2.3. The Participant is warned that if there are insufficient funds in the Participant's account at the time of payment of the Registration fee (or monthly payment), the Participant is obliged to contact the Organizer immediately and request an alternative method of payment. In case the Participant does not contact the Organizer and does not request to be given an alternative method of payment within 6 (six) days from the day of payment delay, the Participant is being disqualified from the Competition, all Competition Awards and any Medal qualification obtained through the Competition will be revoked and the already paid Registration fee is not refunded.

7.2.4. The Participant agrees that in case of non-payment of the Registration Fee (or monthly payment), the Organizer is entitled to apply to the debt collectors of the respective country and to the courts with claims for recovery of the unpaid Registration fee (or monthly payment). In this case, in addition to the Registration Fee, the Participant will be charged all costs related to debt collection, including court fees, debt collection costs, legal fees, etc. payments. Subsequent payment or recovery of the Registration Fee shall not renew the participation of the disqualified Participant in the Competition or reinstate eligibility for a Competition Award or Medal qualification.

7.3. The Participant is responsible for all costs and disbursements incurred in preparing a Submission. The Participant is not entitled to claim the repayment of the Registration Fee and/or the reimbursement of any of its expenses related thereto.

7.4. The Registration Fee is payable by the Participant in Euros through PayPal or by credit or debit card.

7.4.1. Identity verification on the Architects’ Network platform (https://an.pro) is subject to a verification fee as published on the platform at the time of verification. All verification fees are non-refundable once the verification process has commenced.

7.5. Optional Purchase of Presentation Template Package

7.5.1. At the time of Registration for selected Competitions, the Participant may be offered the opportunity to purchase a Competition Presentation Template Package. This is an optional supplementary service intended to assist the Participant in preparing their Submission in accordance with best practices suggested by the Organizer.

7.5.2. Upon successful completion of payment for the Template Package, the Participant will receive an automated email containing a download link to the files at the email address provided during Registration. The files can be downloaded an unlimited number of times by the Participant for their own use.

7.5.3. The Template Package fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to Participant withdrawal from the Competition, disqualification, or technical difficulties not attributable to the Organizer.

7.5.4. The use of the templates is entirely optional and provided as a recommendation only. Utilization of the templates does not guarantee any advantage, evaluation benefit, or privilege in the Competition process. Jury evaluations remain impartial and are based solely on the content and quality of Submissions.

7.5.5. The templates are intended exclusively for use by the purchasing Participant for the purposes of preparing their Submission to the applicable Competition. Redistribution, resale, or sharing of the templates in whole or in part is strictly prohibited. Any breach of this provision may result in legal action and disqualification from the Competition.

7.5.6. The Organizer retains full intellectual property rights over the template materials. The Participant is granted a limited, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use the files solely for personal Competition submission purposes within the Organizer platform.

7.6. AN+ Registration Model and Fees

7.6.1. An AN+ Subscriber who registers for a Competition under the AN+ Registration Model in accordance with Section 3.6.B is exempt from paying the Registration Fee for that Competition.

7.6.2. AN+ Registrations are granted strictly through the monthly AN+ entitlement system. AN+ Subscribers may claim one (1) free Registration per calendar month. Unused monthly entitlements do not accumulate or roll over.

7.6.3. A Registration Fee paid by the Participant under the Standard Registration Model cannot be converted, substituted, exchanged, or retroactively applied as an AN+ Registration. If a Registration Fee has been paid, such payment is final. The Participant is not entitled to claim a refund on the grounds that they are an AN+ Subscriber or became eligible for AN+ Registration after purchase.

7.6.4. AN+ subscription fees are non-refundable and administered exclusively by the Architects’ Network platform. The Organizer assumes no responsibility for AN+ billing, subscription management, cancellations, or financial disputes.

7.6.5. AN+ Registration may not be claimed by any other method than through the Portal, using the procedures defined in Section 3.6.B. Any attempt to obtain Registration Fee reimbursement on the basis of AN+ eligibility, or to convert a paid Registration into an AN+ Registration, shall be rejected.

7.7. Submission Edit Reactivation Fee Following the initial upload of a Submission, the Organizer may require payment of an additional fee in order to unlock further editing, modification, replacement, or re-upload rights for the applicable Competition entry. Upon successful payment of such fee, the Participant may continue to modify the Submission until the Submission deadline. All such fees are non-refundable.

DISQUALIFICATION OF SUBMISSIONS

8.1. Participants will be disqualified if non-compliance with the above restrictions for participants, also in case of providing false information about Participant during registration or concerning eligibility.

8.2. Any significant non-compliance of the Submission with these Terms and Conditions, the Competition Brief or other applicable requirements may be grounds for disqualification. The Organizer has the right to make a decision on the disqualification of the Submission after evaluating the factors of the significance of the violation (for example, evaluating whether the reason for the disqualification is significant, causes damage, is preventable, etc). In case of a significant violation, the Organizer has the right to disqualify the Submission. In case of a minor violation, the Organizer has the right to warn the Participant about the violation without disqualification of the Submission. The Organizer is not obliged to notify and to inform the Participants about decision and the evaluated arguments.

8.3. Participants shall not communicate with any member of the Jury during the term of the Competition. Should it become known that a winning Submission was submitted by a Participant in breach of this rule, the Submission shall be disqualified and any Competition Award and Medal qualification obtained through that Submission shall be revoked.

8.4. All Submissions received by the Organizer after the closing date and time for Submission will be automatically disqualified.

8.5. In case the Participant does not pay the Registration Fee or any part of the monthly payment according to the schedule indicated at the time of registration, the Participant shall be automatically disqualified from participating in the Competition and any Competition Awards and Medal qualification obtained through the Competition shall be revoked. In such case of disqualification due to non-payment, the Organizer will notify the Participant of the disqualification. The Organizer is under no obligation to refund any Registration Fee or monthly payment already made.

CANCELLATION OF THE COMPETITION

9.1. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Competition or alter the Terms and Conditions and/or the Competition Brief and/or other applicable requirements at any time and stage at its own discretion, including but limited if it is considered necessary or if circumstances arise outside of its control.

9.2. In a case of suspension of a Competition the Registration Fees of Participant shall be returned.

SELECTION OF THE WINNER

10.1. The Guest Jury shall be identified on the Competition Portal. Any changes to the Guest Jury shall be at the Organizer’s discretion.

10.2. The Organizer reserves the right to assign judges, agents, or other authorised administrator to administer its Competitions, including making any decision or exercising such decisions at its discretion.

10.3. Prior to registering for any Competition, Participants are advised to seek information about the Guest Jury and Commissioning Party from the Organizer, since establishing and maintaining eligibility for the duration of the Competition is the sole responsibility of each Participant.

10.4. The determination of the Competition winners commences following the closure of the submission deadline, wherein the Organizer administration, in coordination with the Organizer in-house jury panel and invited specialists encompassing budget, technical, and cultural advisors, undertake the task of analyzing and evaluating all project submissions. Organizer reserves the full liberty to select and appoint members of its in-house jury at its discretion, as well as to invite external experts and specialists as deemed necessary for each competition. This meticulous process involves creating a shortlist of submissions, which is derived from a comprehensive review of entries. Subsequently, this shortlist is presented to the invited Guest Jury panel, consisting of experts and authorities in relevant fields. The Guest Jury panel is responsible for the selection and ranking of the shortlisted submissions, utilizing a point system to ascertain the winning entries. Moreover, Organizer retains the discretion to organize a virtual conference among the Guest Jury panel members to facilitate detailed discussions and deliberations about the submissions. This step, taken at Organizer’s discretion, aims to ensure a thorough and fair assessment of all entries, thereby upholding the integrity and standards of the Competition. Through this structured and rigorous process, the winners are ultimately decided, reflecting a blend of expert evaluation and comprehensive analysis.

10.4.1. The Jury’s evaluation decision is final, no appeals concerning the merits of that evaluation will be allowed, and no further communication will be entered into by the Organizer either with Participants or judges. This shall not prevent the review of eligibility or breaches of these Terms, or disqualification and the consequences for rankings, in accordance with Sections 11.4 and 11.5.

10.5. After the winners of the Competition are selected, the Organizer transfers this information to the Commissioning Party.

10.6. Unless stated otherwise in the particular Competition Brief, the association and/or relationship of Organizer with any member of the Jury does not imply any contract, partnership, agency relationship or endorsement of any member of the Jury.

10.7. The Guest Jury panel, in coordination with the Organizer, reserves the right to request additional time for the evaluation of project submissions should it be deemed necessary to ensure a thorough and comprehensive assessment. In such instances, the Organizer retains the discretion to extend the evaluation period, thereby postponing the announcement of the Competition results. This measure, undertaken solely to uphold the integrity and rigor of the judging process, shall be exercised only when deemed essential for maintaining the highest standards of review and deliberation.

10.8. In-Depth Design Assessment

10.8.1. The In-Depth Design Assessment is an optional professional review service offered by the Organizer and may be requested either by Participants under the Standard Registration Model or by AN+ Subscribers in accordance with this Section. The service provides a comprehensive written analysis of the Participant’s submitted project.

10.8.2. The assessment is intended as a professional resource for the participant and may be used to strengthen portfolios, CVs, or client-facing materials. It is designed to provide structured insights, professional commentary, and recommendations for future work.

10.8.3. The In-Depth Design Assessment is not part of the official jury evaluation process, and it does not influence, alter, or in any way affect competition outcomes. It is provided solely as an additional service for participants seeking a more detailed professional critique.

10.8.4. The In-Depth Design Assessment will be made available as written text within the participant’s upload panel.

10.8.5. The assessment examines the project in detail across key aspects such as conceptual strength, architectural resolution, presentation quality, and representational clarity.

10.8.6. The analysis typically includes: a) A general overview of the project. b) Commentary on conceptual and design strengths. c) Identification of weaknesses or areas for improvement. d) Balanced recommendations to guide the participant’s future design efforts.

10.8.7. Participants will be notified by email once the assessment has been completed and published in their upload panel.

10.8.8. The Organizer aims to deliver assessments within seventy-two (72) working hours of confirmation of purchase, unless otherwise communicated. Delivery timelines may be extended at the Organizer’s discretion, depending on submission volume, jury availability, and other operational requirements.

10.8.9. Assessments shall not be released prior to the official announcement of competition results.

10.8.10. Delivery times are indicative only and may vary depending on submission volume, jury availability, and other operational factors.

10.8.11. The assessment provided is final. No edits, revisions, expansions, or additional commentary will be supplied once the assessment has been delivered.

10.8.12. A limited number of In-Depth Design Assessments will be produced per Competition. This limitation applies equally to all Participants, including AN+ Subscribers. The Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to accept additional requests if resources and expert panel capacity allow. AN+ Subscribers are not guaranteed access to an In-Depth Design Assessment and must follow the request procedures set by the Organizer. If the Organizer issues a review request invitation, the AN+ Subscriber must claim the review promptly, as all available assessment slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the maximum number of reviews has been reached and all assessment slots have been claimed, any new requests—whether from Standard Participants or AN+ Subscribers—will be declined due to limited availability of the experts involved in the Competition.

10.8.13. In the event of any conflicting information between the In-Depth Design Assessment and the official jury commentary published with the competition results, participants must regard the jury panel commentary as the primary and final evaluation. As the jury’s evaluation is carried out in direct comparison with other submitted projects, the In-Depth Design Assessment may not, at any time or under any circumstances, be used to contradict, challenge, or appeal the final jury decision or the determination of winners.

10.8.14. The In-Depth Design Assessment is prepared by the Organizer’s in-house expert panel.

10.8.15. Where possible, input may also be sought from members of the competition jury.

10.8.16. Jury involvement is not guaranteed and is subject to availability.

10.8.17. No specific jury member is obligated to participate in the preparation of the assessment.

10.8.18. To maintain neutrality and confidentiality, no individual jury member will be directly quoted in the assessment.

10.8.19. The In-Depth Design Assessment is provided as informational and advisory only.

10.8.20. It is not a substitute for professional consultancy, mentorship, or design services.

10.8.21. Assessments are based solely on the materials submitted by the participant at the time of competition entry.

10.8.22. The Organizer does not accept responsibility for incomplete, unclear, or insufficient submission materials that may limit the depth or accuracy of the review.

10.8.23. Assessments do not constitute endorsements of the project, nor do they guarantee professional success, competition results, or future opportunities.

10.8.24. The Organizer reserves the right to decline the preparation of an In-Depth Design Assessment at its sole discretion.

10.8.25. In cases where the service is declined, the Organizer will issue a full refund of the In-Depth Design Assessment service fee paid, without obligation to provide a reason. This refund applies solely to the fee for the In-Depth Design Assessment and does not include the competition registration fee or any other payments made to the Organizer.

10.8.26. Once the Organizer has accepted a request and commenced preparation of the assessment, fees are strictly non-refundable, even if the participant disagrees with the content or quality of the analysis.

10.8.27. If the assessment has been produced and made available to the participant in their upload panel, no refunds will be provided under any circumstances.

10.8.28. If the Organizer determines that the participant’s submission is unreadable, incomplete, or unsuitable for analysis, the Organizer reserves the right to refuse preparation of the assessment and issue a refund.

10.8.29. The assessment is prepared exclusively for the participant who purchased the service.

10.8.30. Participants are permitted to use the assessment for personal professional purposes only, including portfolios, CVs, or presentations.

10.8.31. The Organizer must be credited as the issuing body wherever the assessment is used in professional contexts.

10.8.32. Assessments may not be republished, resold, distributed publicly, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent from the Organizer.

10.8.33. The Organizer retains the intellectual property rights in the structure, format, and content of the assessment.

10.8.34. The Organizer makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the completeness, accuracy, or applicability of the assessment to any specific purpose.

10.8.35. The assessment reflects the opinions of the Organizer’s expert panel at the time of preparation and is inherently subjective.

10.8.36. The Organizer shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, claims, or losses arising from the use of the assessment.

10.8.37. By requesting the assessment, the participant acknowledges that it represents a professional critique and not a definitive measure of the project’s quality, merit, or potential.

10.8.38. Assessments are prepared for private use by the participant only.

10.8.39. The Organizer will not publicly disclose or distribute a participant’s assessment without explicit consent.

10.8.40. Individual jury contributions, if any, will remain confidential and anonymous.

10.8.41. By requesting an In-Depth Design Assessment, the participant confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.

10.8.42. The Organizer reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time, and the updated version will apply to all future requests for the service.

10.9. Jury Feedback

10.9.1. Written jury panel feedback may be provided only to winning teams, subject to jury availability and at the Organizer’s discretion.

10.9.2. Any detailed commentary by the jury panel directly addressing specific projects is likewise at the Organizer’s discretion and shall not be considered an entitlement.

10.10. Ask the Jury Service

10.10.1. Service Overview The “Ask the Jury” service (hereinafter – the “Service”) is an optional feature that allows Participants to submit questions related to the Competition brief, intent, and evaluation approach for clarification purposes. The Service is available only for selected Competitions, as determined by the Organizer at its sole discretion. The Organizer does not guarantee availability of the Service for all Competitions.

10.10.2. Scope of Questions

10.10.2.1. Questions submitted through the Service must relate strictly to:

10.10.2.1.1. interpretation of the Competition Brief;

10.10.2.1.2. clarification of Competition requirements or evaluation criteria;

10.10.2.1.3. general design approach or conceptual direction.

10.10.2.2. The Service does not constitute design consultancy, mentorship, or personalized project feedback.

10.10.3. Submission Limits and Types

10.10.3.1. Each registered Participant (or Participant Team) is entitled to submit one (1) question free of charge per valid registration.

10.10.3.2. Participants may submit additional questions as a paid service, subject to availability.

10.10.3.3. Paid questions are not limited in number unless otherwise specified by the Organizer.

10.10.4. Submission Deadlines

10.10.4.1. Questions may be submitted no later than three (3) days after the registration deadline, unless otherwise specified on the Competition Portal.

10.10.4.2. Questions submitted after this deadline may be automatically rejected without review.

10.10.5. Free Question Mechanism (Voting-Based)

10.10.5.1. Free questions are subject to a participant voting system.

10.10.5.2. Only the top five (5) most-voted questions will be forwarded to the Jury.

10.10.5.3. Selection is based solely on participant voting, and the Organizer is not responsible for the outcome of such voting.

10.10.5.4. Responses to selected free questions will be published collectively.

10.10.6. Paid Question Mechanism

10.10.6.1. Paid questions are submitted directly to the Organizer and forwarded without voting.

10.10.6.2. Paid questions may be addressed to the Jury collectively or to a specific Jury member, where such option is offered.

10.10.6.3. The Organizer does not guarantee that a specific Jury member will respond, unless explicitly confirmed at the time of purchase.

10.10.7. Jury Participation and Availability

10.10.7.1. Jury participation in the Service is subject to availability.

10.10.7.2. No individual Jury member is obligated to respond to any question.

10.10.7.3. The Organizer reserves the right to determine how responses are prepared, including assigning responses to internal experts or summarizing Jury input.

10.10.8. Format of Responses

10.10.8.1. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, responses will be provided as a single summarized collective answer, representing the general position of the Jury or Organizer.

10.10.8.2. Individual Jury members will not be directly quoted, and their identities in relation to specific responses will remain confidential.

10.10.8.3. Responses are intended for general clarification and shall not be interpreted as binding instructions or guarantees affecting evaluation outcomes.

10.10.9. Response Timelines

10.10.9.1. Free questions: responses will be published within six (6) days after the registration deadline.

10.10.9.2. Paid questions: the Organizer aims to provide responses within seventy-two (72) hours of submission.

10.10.9.3. All timelines are indicative only and may be extended at the Organizer’s discretion depending on workload, Jury availability, or operational constraints.

10.10.10. Publication and Equal Access

10.10.10.1. All approved questions and corresponding answers, whether submitted via free or paid options, will be published on the Portal and made accessible to all Participants to ensure equal access to information.

10.10.11. Organizer Discretion and Moderation Rights

10.10.11.1. The Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

10.10.11.1.1. reject, decline, or not forward any question;

10.10.11.1.2. edit, rephrase, translate, or standardize the language of any submitted question;

10.10.11.1.3. merge similar or duplicate questions;

10.10.11.1.4. remove irrelevant, inappropriate, or non-compliant content;

10.10.11.1.5. determine whether a question falls within the permitted scope.

10.10.11.2. The Organizer is not obligated to provide justification for any such decisions.

10.10.12. Refund Policy

10.10.12.1. If a paid question is rejected or not processed, the Organizer will issue a full refund of the Service fee.

10.10.12.2. Once a question has been accepted and a response has been provided, the fee is strictly non-refundable, regardless of Participant satisfaction with the answer.

10.10.12.3. Disagreement with, or dissatisfaction regarding, the content, depth, or usefulness of a response does not constitute grounds for a refund.

10.10.13. Nature of Responses and Limitation of Liability

10.10.13.1. All responses provided through the Service are informational only and reflect general interpretations or opinions at the time of response.

10.10.13.2. Responses do not constitute professional advice, binding instructions, or guarantees of success in the Competition.

10.10.13.3. The Organizer shall not be held liable for any decisions, interpretations, or outcomes resulting from reliance on the responses.

10.10.14. Service Limitations

10.10.14.1. The Service is subject to capacity limitations and may be restricted, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

10.10.14.2. The Organizer reserves the right to limit the number of paid questions accepted per Competition.

10.10.14.3. Availability of responses depends on Jury participation and operational capacity.

10.10.15. Finality

10.10.15.1. All responses provided through the Service are final. No follow-up clarifications, revisions, or additional explanations will be provided unless explicitly stated by the Organizer.

10.11. Automatic Resubmission Program

10.11.1. Service Overview

10.11.1.1. The “Automatic Resubmission Program” (hereinafter – the “Program”) is an optional service offered for selected Competitions, allowing Participants to automatically resubmit an existing Submission into future editions of the same Competition series.

10.11.1.2. Competitions operating under the Program may be conducted as recurring editions using substantially the same Competition brief while involving new Jury members, new Participants, revised evaluation dynamics, or updated Competition schedules.

10.11.1.3. Participation in the Program is optional and subject to availability as determined by the Organizer at its sole discretion.

10.11.1.4. The Program is available only for Competitions specifically designated by the Organizer as supporting automatic resubmission functionality.

10.11.1.5. The Program is separate from automatic inclusion in the Medal under Section 11.7. Enrollment in the Program is not required for Medal qualification or participation. Purchasing or participating in the Program does not, by itself, confer Medal qualification.

10.11.2. Nature of Resubmissions

10.11.2.1. By enrolling in the Program, the Participant authorizes the Organizer to automatically enter the originally submitted project into future editions of the same Competition series without requiring a new registration process for each edition.

10.11.2.2. Each future edition constitutes a separate Competition event, which may include: (a) different Jury members; (b) different Participants; (c) modified schedules; (d) revised Award structures or Medal qualification requirements; (e) updated Competition administration procedures; and (f) other operational changes determined by the Organizer.

10.11.2.3. The Submission resubmitted through the Program shall remain substantially identical to the originally uploaded version unless modification rights are separately enabled by the Organizer.

10.11.2.4. Unless explicitly permitted by the Organizer, Participants may not edit, replace, modify, or update a Submission already enrolled in the Program.

10.11.3. Enrollment and Fees

10.11.3.1. Enrollment in the Program may require payment of a separate one-time fee as indicated on the Portal at the time of purchase.

10.11.3.2. Program fees are non-refundable except where expressly stated otherwise in these Terms.

10.11.3.3. Enrollment becomes effective only after successful payment confirmation through the Portal.

10.11.3.4. The Organizer reserves the right to modify Program pricing, availability, or conditions for future Participants at any time.

10.11.4. Duration and Termination

10.11.4.1. A Submission enrolled in the Program may continue to be automatically resubmitted into future editions until: (a) the Submission receives a winning or shortlisted position officially published by the Organizer; (b) the Participant manually cancels participation in the Program; (c) the Competition series is discontinued; (d) the Program is suspended or terminated by the Organizer; or (e) the Participant becomes disqualified under these Terms.

10.11.4.2. The Organizer does not guarantee that future editions of any Competition will occur.

10.11.4.3. The Organizer may discontinue, suspend, modify, postpone, or permanently terminate any Competition series or the Program itself at any time without liability.

10.11.5. Cancellation by Participant

10.11.5.1. The Participant may cancel future automatic resubmissions through the Portal at any time before the applicable Submission deadline of the upcoming edition.

10.11.5.2. Cancellation shall prevent future automatic entries but shall not affect editions in which the Submission has already been officially entered.

10.11.5.3. No refunds shall be issued following cancellation by the Participant.

10.11.6. Editing and Deletion Restrictions

10.11.6.1. Submissions enrolled in the Program may become locked against editing, modification, replacement, or deletion.

10.11.6.2. Where deletion functionality is available, the Participant may delete the Submission only until the Submission deadline of the applicable edition.

10.11.6.3. Following the applicable Submission deadline, deletion or modification rights may no longer be available.

10.11.6.4. The Organizer reserves the right to determine whether editing, deletion, or modification functionality is available for any specific Competition or edition.

10.11.7. Competition Evaluation

10.11.7.1. Participation in the Program does not guarantee selection, shortlisting, winning status, publication, feedback, exposure, or eligibility for Competition Awards or Medal qualification.

10.11.7.2. Each resubmitted entry shall be evaluated independently within the context of the applicable Competition edition.

10.11.7.3. Previous participation or previous Competition results shall not influence future Jury evaluations.

10.11.8. Organizer Rights

10.11.8.1. The Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to: (a) reject or remove any Submission from the Program; (b) suspend or terminate a Participant’s access to the Program; (c) modify Program functionality; (d) change eligibility requirements; (e) discontinue automatic resubmission features; and (f) refuse future resubmissions where operational, legal, technical, or administrative circumstances require.

10.11.8.2. The Organizer is not obligated to provide justification for such decisions.

10.11.9. Limitation of Liability

10.11.9.1. The Organizer does not guarantee uninterrupted operation of the Program or automatic placement of a Submission into every future edition.

10.11.9.2. The Organizer shall not be liable for: (a) technical failures; (b) interrupted Competition schedules; (c) discontinued Competition series; (d) missed resubmissions; (e) system limitations; (f) changes to Competition structure; or (g) any indirect or consequential losses arising from participation in the Program.

10.11.9.3. The Participant acknowledges that future Competition editions may substantially differ from previous editions in structure, Jury composition, evaluation criteria, visibility, Award offerings, or Medal qualification requirements.

10.11.10. Finality

10.11.10.1. Participation in the Program constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

10.11.10.2. The Organizer reserves the right to amend or update the Program Terms at any time, with updated versions becoming effective upon publication on the Portal.

AWARDS AND BUILDNER MEDAL QUALIFICATION

11.1. The Competition does not offer monetary prizes or a Competition prize fund. The non-monetary Awards available for the Competition shall be specified on the official Competition website and in the Competition Brief. Winners may receive potential media exposure through Organizer channels and partner publications, and written Jury feedback at the Organizer’s discretion. No other prizes, benefits, contracts, or commitments are included unless expressly stated. Qualification for the Medal, where applicable, shall be governed by Section 11.7.

11.2. An Award and any Medal qualification arising from that Award are attributable to the awarded Submission and its registered Participant or Participant Team and may not be transferred to other persons or applied to another Submission. An Assignment of project rights to the Commissioning Party under Section 12 shall not transfer the Award, Medal qualification, or entitlement to any Medal prize from the registered Participant or Participant Team to the Commissioning Party.

11.3. Award Eligibility

11.3.1. Only Participants who have validly registered for the Competition, either through the Standard Registration Model or the AN+ Registration Model, are eligible to receive an Award, provided they have satisfied all identity-verification requirements under Section 3.6.C.

11.3.2. In the case of team participation, all team members listed in the Participant’s team profile must have completed identity verification at the time they joined the Team in accordance with Section 3.6.C. Subsequent cancellation, expiration, downgrade, or loss of verification status shall not affect Award eligibility or Medal qualification, provided the Participant satisfied the verification requirements at the time of joining the Team.

11.3.3. If the team leader registered under the AN+ Registration Model, the team leader must remain the team leader for the duration of the Competition. The team leader shall act on behalf of the Participant Team in communications relating to the Award and Medal qualification. The Organizer shall not intervene in internal team agreements.

11.3.4. The suspension, cancellation, expiration, or downgrade of an AN+ subscription after an AN+ Registration has been validly claimed does not affect Award eligibility or Medal qualification. However, any act of misuse, fraud, identity manipulation, chargeback, or violation of these Terms shall void Award eligibility and any qualification arising from the affected entry.

11.4. Public-Exposure and Review Period

11.4.1. Following the announcement of the Competition results, the Organizer applies a mandatory public-exposure and review period to uphold the integrity of the Competition and provide an additional layer of protection against unlawful activity, including copyright infringement, plagiarism, identity misuse, deceptive conduct, or claims by rights holders.

11.4.2. The review period shall continue for sixty (60) Working Days after the first notification of the Jury's decision, excluding the day of notification. For the purposes of this review period, that notification shall be issued when the original Competition results are published. Reassignment of an Award during that period shall not restart the original Competition's review period. Concerns raised during or after that period may be reviewed by the Organizer and may result in disqualification or revocation of an Award in accordance with Section 11.5. The review period does not create a requirement for any additional Medal application or Submission. Provisional Medal entry, replacement entries, Medal ranking finality, and Medal payment are governed by Sections 11.7 and 11.8.

11.5. Award Ineligibility and Disqualification

11.5.1. If, before expiry of the review period described in Section 11.4.2, a Participant whose Submission has been selected as a winner cannot accept or becomes ineligible for an Award, the Award shall be awarded to the next highest ranked eligible Participant. Any reassignment shall be officially announced within that review period. The Participant who becomes ineligible may not request later transfer of the Award. Where a qualifying Award is reassigned during that period, the resulting Medal entry shall be governed by Sections 11.7.5 and 11.7.9. Disqualification after expiry of that period shall be governed by Section 11.5.4.

11.5.2. If any Participant or team member is found to have engaged in AN+ misuse, fraud, identity manipulation, chargeback abuse, or any prohibited conduct, the Organizer may: (a) revoke the Award and any Medal qualification arising from that Award; (b) disqualify the Participant from the Competition; (c) remove any Competition registrations associated with the affected account; and (d) permanently prohibit future participation. Any consequences for prizes or recognition awarded in the separate Medal shall be governed by Sections 11.7.9 to 11.7.13 and 11.8.

11.5.3. If an unlawful refund, chargeback, reversal, or dispute is obtained by the Participant’s financial institution regarding any AN+ subscription fee, onboarding fee, or Registration Fee, all associated Competition entries shall be cancelled, disqualified, and removed from the Portal, and any Competition Awards and Medal qualification arising from those entries shall be revoked. Any consequences for prizes or recognition awarded in the separate Medal shall be governed by Sections 11.7.9 to 11.7.13 and 11.8.

11.5.4. Finality of Competition Rankings. The official Competition rankings shall become final upon expiry of the review period described in Section 11.4.2. If, after that period, the Organizer determines that a Participant or Submission should be disqualified due to a breach of these Terms or any other applicable requirements, the Organizer may revoke the Participant's Award, title, recognition, publication, or other benefits associated with the Competition, including Medal qualification arising from the revoked Award. For the avoidance of doubt, disqualification after expiry of the review period shall not result in recalculation or amendment of the official Competition rankings, promotion of other Participants, reassignment of an Award, or creation of a replacement Medal entry. Reassignment during the review period, or suspension of a Medal payment, shall not restart the original Competition's review period. Medal rankings and the consequences for Medal prizes or recognition shall be governed by Sections 11.7.9 to 11.7.13 and 11.8.

11.6. Responsibilities After Winning

11.6.1. Subject to the publicity arrangements set out in Section 6, the Assignment and related cooperation requirements set out in Section 12, automatic inclusion in the Medal under Section 11.7, and the conditions for claiming a Medal monetary prize under Section 11.8, any further communication or potential collaboration following the announcement of winners is voluntary and at the discretion of the Participant. Winning the Competition does not impose any obligation on the Participant to provide further architectural or other professional services, participate in project development or construction, or enter into further commercial collaboration. Any such services or collaboration shall be subject to a separate agreement. Automatic Medal inclusion does not require an additional application or Submission.

11.6.2. The Organizer shall not be liable for any disputes within the Participant Team regarding Awards, attribution, Medal qualification, distribution of Medal monetary prizes, intellectual property, authorship, or project development responsibilities. Payment of a Team Medal monetary prize shall be governed by Section 11.8.2.

11.7. Buildner Medal Programme

11.7.1. Only selected Competitions form part of the Medal programme. A Competition shall qualify for the Medal only where it is expressly designated by the Organizer as “Qualified for Buildner Medal” on the official Competition website and in the Competition Brief. The absence of monetary prizes in the Competition does not, by itself, establish Medal eligibility.

11.7.2. Before registering, the Participant is responsible for reviewing both the official Competition website and the Competition Brief to determine whether the Competition forms part of the Medal programme, which Award categories confer qualification, and whether any additional eligibility conditions apply.

11.7.3. Subject to compliance with these Terms and the applicable Medal eligibility requirements, qualification is available to Participants or Participant Teams whose Submissions receive the first, second, or third place Award in a qualifying Competition. Recipients of selected additional Awards, including Student, Sustainability, or other special Awards, shall qualify only where the respective Award category is expressly identified as qualifying on the official Competition website and in the Competition Brief. Registration, participation, shortlisting, or receipt of any other recognition shall not, by itself, confer qualification.

11.7.4. Where a Submission receives a qualifying Award, the awarded Submission shall automatically be included in the applicable Medal edition together with its registered Participant or Participant Team. No additional application, Submission, Medal registration fee, or AN+ monthly registration entitlement is required. Participation in the Medal cannot be purchased or obtained through independent registration. Payment of any Registration Fee or optional-service fee for the original Competition does not, by itself, confer Medal qualification. Medal entry is provisional until the original Competition's sixty (60) Working Day review period under Section 11.4.2 has expired with a qualifying Award for that Submission still in force. Confirmation of entry does not limit the Organizer's subsequent disqualification and revocation rights. The same Submission shall be entered only once in a Medal edition, even where more than one qualifying Award supports its eligibility.

Where a Submission qualifies for the Medal, the Organizer may provide the awarded Submission and relevant registered Participant or Participant Team information to the Medal Jury and partners involved in administering the Medal, in accordance with the Portal Privacy Policy.

11.7.5. The applicable Medal edition shall be determined by the date on which the original Competition results are first officially announced and the eligibility period published on the official Medal website. Qualifying Competition results first announced on or after that edition's published launch date and on or before its closing date shall qualify for that edition. Results first announced after the closing date shall be allocated to the following Medal edition. Results first announced before the launch date shall not qualify for that edition.

A reassignment of a qualifying Award during the original Competition's review period does not change that edition allocation. The replacement winner's Submission and registered Participant or Participant Team shall automatically enter the same Medal edition, subject to Section 11.7.9, even if the reassignment is announced after the Medal closing date, after Medal judging, or after the announcement of provisional Medal results. The date of reassignment, expiry of the review period, or payment of a Medal monetary prize shall not determine the Medal edition.

11.7.6. An Award or qualification for the Medal does not entitle the Participant to a monetary payment from the Competition and does not guarantee receipt of a Medal prize, award, or other recognition. Any monetary prize awarded in the Medal shall arise from the separate Medal evaluation and shall not constitute a monetary prize awarded by this Competition. Any monetary prize awarded in the Medal shall not constitute remuneration for the Assignment under Section 12 or a condition of its effectiveness.

11.7.7. Automatic inclusion in the Medal shall not constitute a new Submission to the original Competition or enrollment in the Automatic Resubmission Program under Section 10.11. The original Competition's requirements shall continue to govern the original entry. Medal participation, including evaluation of the already awarded Submission, shall be governed by Sections 11.7 and 11.8 and the applicable edition-specific Medal rules described in Section 11.7.8.

11.7.8. The applicable Medal rules published on the official Medal website govern its evaluation procedure, schedule, prize structure, and edition-specific eligibility requirements. The Participant is responsible for reviewing those rules. These Terms also govern automatic Medal entry, the consequences of review and reassignment of qualifying Awards, and Medal monetary-prize eligibility, payment, disqualification, tax responsibility, and recovery as expressly set out in Sections 11.7 and 11.8. The Organizer shall make the applicable Medal rules and these Terms available on the official Medal website. If those Medal rules conflict with Sections 11.7 or 11.8 on any of these expressly governed matters, these Sections shall prevail. These Terms shall continue to govern the original Competition and its Awards.

11.7.9. If a qualifying Award is revoked or reassigned during the original Competition's review period, the former winner's provisional Medal entry shall be removed unless the same Submission remains eligible for that Medal edition through another qualifying Award, subject to any independent ground for disqualification. A replacement winner shall enter only if the reassigned Award is itself a qualifying Award and the replacement Submission and its registered Participant or Participant Team satisfy the applicable eligibility requirements. The replacement enters with its own Submission and registered Participant or Participant Team; it does not acquire the former winner's Submission, registered Team, Medal ranking, or Medal prize.

If Medal judging has already finished, the Medal Jury shall assess the replacement Submission on its own merits under the same evaluation criteria as the other entries in that edition. If provisional Medal results have already been announced, the Organizer shall publish any resulting corrections before the Medal rankings become final under Section 11.7.11. A reassignment of the original Competition Award shall not automatically confer a Medal award or monetary prize on the replacement winner.

11.7.10. Medal judging and the announcement of Medal results may take place before the original Competition review periods applicable to entries in that Medal edition have expired. Until the conditions in Section 11.7.11 are satisfied, the Medal results shall be expressly identified as provisional and subject to confirmation of qualifying Awards and any reassessment required under Section 11.7.9. Medal results are also subject to the Medal's own mandatory public-exposure and review period of sixty (60) Working Days following notification of the Medal Jury's decision, excluding the day of notification and measured separately from each original Competition's review period.

11.7.11. The Medal rankings shall become final only after: (a) the Medal's sixty (60) Working Day review period under Section 11.7.10 has expired; (b) the edition's published closing date has passed and the original Competition review periods for all qualifying Competitions whose results were first announced within that edition's eligibility period have expired, including any such Competition whose initial Medal entry has been removed; and (c) all replacement entries that remain eligible for that edition and arise from qualifying Awards reassigned during those original review periods have been assessed under Section 11.7.9 and any resulting revised Medal results have been published. Where revised Medal results change an award or ranking, those revised results shall be subject to a further sixty (60) Working Day review period following notification of the revised Medal Jury's decision, excluding the day of notification, before the Medal rankings become final. Notification of the initial Medal Jury's decision and each revised decision shall be issued when the corresponding results are published.

11.7.12. Before the Medal rankings become final, the Organizer may correct the Medal rankings and reassign Medal awards following disqualification or assessment of an eligible replacement entry. If a recipient cannot accept or receive a Medal monetary prize, or becomes ineligible for it before Medal ranking finality, that prize shall be awarded to the next highest ranked eligible entrant in accordance with the applicable Medal prize structure, subject to Section 11.7.11. After the Medal rankings become final, the Organizer may revoke a Medal prize, award, title, recognition, publication, or other benefit and recover money under Section 11.8.9, but shall not recalculate or amend those rankings, promote other entrants, reassign an award, or award additional Medal prize monies to another entrant. A payment suspension alone shall not extend or reopen final Medal rankings.

11.7.13. Revocation of the original qualifying Award at any time removes the associated Medal eligibility and permits revocation of any dependent Medal prize, award, title, recognition, publication, or other benefit, unless the same Submission remains eligible for that Medal edition through another qualifying Award, subject to any independent ground for disqualification. A disqualification after the original Competition rankings become final does not create a replacement qualifying Award or a new Medal entry, in accordance with Section 11.5.4. Any correction or reassignment of Medal awards shall be governed by Sections 11.7.11 and 11.7.12. The Organizer may suspend or revoke an unpaid Medal monetary prize and recover Medal prize monies already paid in accordance with Section 11.8.9. Receipt or payment of a Medal monetary prize does not prevent later disqualification or recovery under these Terms.

11.8. Medal Monetary-Prize Pay-out Conditions

11.8.1. The conditions in this Section apply only to monetary prizes awarded in the separate Medal and do not create a monetary prize or prize fund for the original Competition. Automatic entry under Section 11.7.4 satisfies the Medal registration requirement. No new Standard Registration, AN+ Registration, or identity-verification subscription is required solely for Medal entry. The Participant or Participant Team must have satisfied the registration and identity-verification requirements for the original qualifying Competition under Section 11.3 and remain otherwise eligible. Subsequent cancellation, expiration, or downgrade of an AN+ subscription or verification status shall not, by itself, invalidate eligibility validly established under those requirements.

11.8.2. A Medal monetary prize is personal and non-transferable. An individual Medal monetary prize may be claimed by and paid only to the registered Participant entitled to receive it. In the case of team participation under either the Standard Registration Model or the AN+ Registration Model, the prize may be claimed by and paid only to that Team's registered team leader on behalf of the Participant Team. The Organizer shall not divide the prize between team members or intervene in internal team agreements. Payment to the registered team leader discharges the Organizer's payment obligation to the Participant Team to the extent of the amount paid. Assignment or licensing of rights in the Submission shall not transfer the Participant's or Participant Team's Medal entry or entitlement to a Medal monetary prize to the Organizer, a Commissioning Party, or any other person.

11.8.3. After the announcement of the Medal results, a recipient entitled to receive a Medal monetary prize must provide valid bank account details in their profile on the Portal for the purpose of payment. Cash payment shall be made exclusively via international bank transfer. The recipient must provide complete and accurate bank account information capable of receiving international wire transfers in the currency specified for the relevant Medal prize (EUR or USD, as applicable). The account must be held in the name of the registered Participant entitled to receive the prize or, for a Participant Team, its registered team leader.

The provided bank account must be connected to the international banking system, such as SWIFT or an equivalent network, and legally able to receive cross-border payments. The Organizer may request information reasonably necessary to verify the account holder and comply with applicable payment requirements.

The Organizer shall not be responsible for delays, rejected payments, or inability to transfer funds due to incorrect information, banking restrictions, sanctions, regulatory limitations, or the receiving bank's inability to process international transactions.

The Organizer may withhold, suspend, or refuse payment where making the payment would breach applicable sanctions laws, financial regulations, or other legal restrictions, including restrictions applicable to the Participant, payment recipient, sending bank, receiving bank, intermediary bank, or payment destination. No payment route or alternative recipient may be used to circumvent those restrictions.

11.8.4. The Organizer will endeavour to initiate Medal monetary-prize payment no earlier than the sixty-first (61st) Working Day after notification of the relevant Medal Jury's decision, excluding the day of notification, and after receiving the recipient's signed confirmation, subject to the other payment conditions in these Terms. No payment shall be made until the Medal rankings have become final under Section 11.7.11. The Organizer may suspend payment if relevant eligibility concerns are raised, until those matters are resolved at the Organizer's sole discretion. The sixty-first (61st) Working Day is the earliest permitted payment date and does not guarantee payment on that date.

If revised Medal results first award a monetary prize to a recipient or increase its amount, payment of that new or increased award shall not begin before the sixty-first (61st) Working Day after notification of the revised Medal Jury's decision, excluding the day of notification, and shall remain subject to the same confirmation, ranking-finality, and other payment conditions. Any amount previously paid in respect of the same Medal prize shall be taken into account; the same amount shall not be paid twice. A payment suspension shall not change the applicable Medal edition or, by itself, extend or reopen final rankings. The signed confirmation required for payment shall not constitute an additional Medal application or Submission.

11.8.5. To request cash payment of a Medal monetary prize, the recipient must manually enter the required bank account details in the Portal and select the cash-out option. A cash-out request does not override a review period, payment suspension, or any other condition in Sections 11.7 and 11.8.

The recipient is entitled to receive the Medal monetary prize in one or more payments or to use it to cover the registration fees of other Competitions at their discretion. For each monetary-prize payment transaction, the recipient pays a commission fee of EUR 25.00 (twenty-five euros). Use of a prize for registration fees remains subject to the same eligibility, lawful-payment, review, and ranking-finality conditions as cash payment.

11.8.6. The recipient is obliged to claim a Medal monetary prize no later than within one (1) year from publication of the Medal results awarding that prize to that recipient. Unclaimed Medal monetary prizes remain the property of the Organizer. A claim is made through the Portal cash-out option or a request to use the prize for registration fees under Section 11.8.5. Where revised Medal results first award a prize to a recipient or increase its amount, the one-year claim period for that new or increased award runs from publication of those revised results.

A Medal monetary prize claimed within the applicable period shall not become unclaimed or be forfeited solely because payment remains subject to a review period or a payment suspension imposed by the Organizer. These provisions remain subject to continuing eligibility and do not preserve a Medal monetary prize that is subsequently revoked under Sections 11.7 or 11.8.9.

11.8.7. Each Medal monetary prize shall be claimed and accounted for separately. Its claim period, review, payment, and any repayment shall be determined separately from any prize awarded in another Competition or Medal edition. Receipt of a monetary prize in another Competition shall not, by itself, replace, reduce, or discharge a Medal monetary prize payable under these Terms. No monetary prize is payable for the original Competition governed by these Terms.

11.8.8. The recipient is solely responsible for complying with all applicable tax laws and reporting requirements, as well as for paying all taxes, duties, and other fees imposed on Medal monetary prizes awarded. The Organizer will make deductions or withholdings and provide information to tax authorities where required by applicable law.

11.8.9. Where a Medal monetary prize is revoked following disqualification, whether before or after the Medal rankings become final, the Organizer may require repayment of any Medal prize monies already paid in respect of that revoked prize. For this purpose, the monetary value of the prize already applied at the recipient's request to registration fees under Section 11.8.5 shall be treated as an amount paid to that recipient. The Organizer may cancel any unused credit representing the revoked Medal prize.

The Participant who received the payment or used the prize for registration fees or, for a Participant Team, the registered team leader who did so shall repay the amount actually paid to that recipient or applied to registration fees within thirty (30) calendar days after receiving a written repayment notice identifying the revoked prize, the reason for revocation, the amount to be repaid, and lawful repayment instructions. The repayment amount shall take account of any amount already recovered or refunded to the Organizer in respect of the same revoked prize. No repayment shall be required for unused credit that has been cancelled. The Organizer shall not recover the same amount more than once. Repayment does not confer any right to reinstatement or to a replacement award.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

12.1. Intellectual property rights include all rights including but not limited to copyright, trademarks, service marks, trade names, design rights, patents, know-how, trade secrets, inventions and other forms of intellectual or industrial property, whether registered or unregistered and all applications for the same (the “Intellectual Property Rights”).

12.2. Upon submitting an entry to the Competition, the Participant and/or each member of the Participant Team grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, and perpetual license to use the Submission for publicity and promotional purposes. This includes the right to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, modify, translate, publicly display, archive, and distribute the Submission (in whole or in part) in any digital or print media, or in exhibitions, for the purpose of promoting the Competition and, where applicable, the Medal, and showcasing the Participant’s work across books, printed matter, social media, video, and third-party platforms, without requiring further permission or compensation to the Participant. Where the Submission qualifies for the Medal, the Participant and/or each member of the Participant Team also authorizes the Organizer to provide the awarded Submission to the Medal Jury and use it for administering and evaluating that Medal entry. For the avoidance of doubt, these rights are granted strictly to allow the Organizer to promote the Competition and, where applicable, the Medal, to administer and evaluate the qualifying Medal entry, and to showcase Participants’ work. The rights granted to the Organizer under this Section shall survive any Assignment under Section 12.4.

12.3. The Organizer has the rights, but is not obliged to use all or any of the Intellectual Property Rights licensed above.

12.4. Each Participant, including each member of a Participant Team, hereby agrees to transfer and assign to the Commissioning Party all assignable economic Intellectual Property Rights in the Submission (“Assignment”) if the Submission has been declared as any winner of the Competition and the Participant has been notified in accordance with Section 12.5. The Assignment shall apply notwithstanding that the Competition does not offer monetary prizes. The rights transferred are all those necessary to develop, construct, modify, and use the Project described in the Submission for the purposes specified in this Section. The rights granted to the Organizer under Section 12.2 shall survive any Assignment under this Section. This Assignment includes, without limitation, the exclusive right to:

• reproduce the Submission in any format or medium;

• publish, distribute, and publicly display the Submission;

• adapt, modify, translate, and create derivative works;

• develop, construct, commercialize, and implement the Project described in the Submission;

• sublicense, transfer, or assign such rights to third parties;

• use the Submission for promotional, commercial, construction, development, and related purposes;

• exploit the Submission in all media now known or later developed, worldwide and for the entire duration of applicable Intellectual Property protection.

12.4.1. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that the Competition does not offer monetary prizes and that the Assignment under this Section is agreed without monetary remuneration. No monetary payment shall be due for the Assignment unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing or required by mandatory applicable law. A Competition Award or qualification for the Buildner Medal shall not constitute a monetary payment or a guarantee of any future monetary prize. Any monetary prize awarded in the separate Buildner Medal shall not constitute remuneration for the Assignment or a condition of its effectiveness. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude any right to remuneration that cannot lawfully be waived.

12.4.2. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Participant agrees not to assert, and waives insofar as legally possible, moral rights solely to the extent necessary to permit the Commissioning Party to modify, adapt, develop, or implement the awarded Submission for the purposes expressly specified in this Section. Any waiver shall be effective only where the applicable written agreement clearly identifies the specific moral rights waived and the specific cases in which the waiver applies. Nothing in these Terms shall require the unlawful waiver of moral rights. Where authorship attribution is required by law, reasonable acknowledgment shall be provided.

12.4.3. Following notification of a winning Submission, each Participant, including each member of a Participant Team, agrees to execute any additional documents and take any reasonable actions necessary to confirm, formalize, or record the Assignment in favor of the Commissioning Party. Such documents shall reflect the terms set out in these Terms and Conditions and shall not expand the rights granted herein. Failure to cooperate may result in disqualification or revocation of the Competition Award and any Medal qualification arising from that Award, in accordance with Sections 11.4 and 11.5. Any consequences for prizes or recognition awarded in the separate Medal shall be governed by Sections 11.7.9 to 11.7.13 and 11.8. Any such documents relate to the Assignment arising from the original Competition and shall not constitute an additional Medal application or Submission.

12.4.4. To the extent that an Assignment under this Section is deemed invalid, ineffective, or unenforceable under applicable law, and only where all applicable legal requirements for such a license are satisfied, the Participant grants the Commissioning Party an exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, develop, construct, commercialize, and otherwise exploit the Submission for the purposes expressly specified in this Section. The license shall be subject to the conversion provision in Section 12.5. This provision shall not dispense with any written-contract requirement or other mandatory legal formality applicable to that license.

12.4.5. Warranty of Authority. Each Participant, including each member of a Participant Team, represents and warrants that they are a lawful holder of, or are duly authorized to assign or license, the Intellectual Property Rights granted under this Section and that all necessary third-party consents have been obtained. The Participant further warrants that no prior agreements conflict with the rights granted herein.

12.5. Subject to applicable written-contract requirements and other mandatory legal formalities, the Assignment shall automatically become irrevocably binding upon the Participant when and if the Submission is selected as a winner of the Competition and the respective Participant is notified accordingly by email, or, in the case of a Participant Team, by email to its registered team leader. No monetary payment shall be required as a condition of the Assignment. If the Commissioning Party does not initiate any development, implementation, or written confirmation of rights within twenty-four (24) months from publication of the Competition results, the exclusive Assignment shall convert automatically into a non-exclusive license in favor of the Commissioning Party, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The same conversion provision shall apply to an exclusive license granted under Section 12.4.4. Subject to mandatory applicable law, revocation of an Award or Medal qualification shall not, by itself, reverse an Assignment or license that has already validly taken effect.

12.6. Upon effectiveness of the Assignment described above, the Commissioning Party shall hold the exclusive transferable economic rights in the Submission, subject to the conversion provision in Section 12.5. The Participant retains those non-transferable rights that cannot legally be assigned under applicable law. The rights granted to the Organizer under Section 12.2 shall remain in effect.

12.7. The rights in any Submission that is not selected as a winner of the Competition under Section 12.4 shall be retained by the Participant, subject to the license granted to the Organizer as described above. Qualification for or receipt of a prize in the separate Buildner Medal shall not, by itself, create any additional Assignment to the Commissioning Party.

12.8. All credits in connection with the Submission are associated with the registered name of Participant or the title of the Participant Team. Organizer shall make a reasonable effort to display the author's name on any Submission whenever published or otherwise featured.

12.9. The Participant undertakes to not exploit any of its personal rights arising out of the Intellectual Property Rights in any time and manner contrary to the interests of the Organizer or the Commissioning Party. This Section is subject to Section 12.4.2 and shall not require the unlawful waiver of any moral or other non-transferable rights.

12.10. In addition to the rights granted above, the Participant and/or each member of the Participant Team grants Organizer the right to use and include the Submission (or any part thereof) in print or digital books, magazines, or other editorial content created and published by or on behalf of Organizer. These uses are considered part of Organizer’s broader promotional activities. No additional permissions, payments, or royalties will be required from Organizer.

12.11. The Participant and/or each member of the Participant Team acknowledges and agrees that the Organizer is under no obligation to use, publish, or include the Submission in any book or publication and that any decision to do so is at the sole and absolute discretion of the Organizer. The rights granted under this clause are irrevocable and shall remain in effect indefinitely. The Participant and/or each member of the Participant Team waives any right to inspect or approve the finished book or publication, or the use to which it may be applied.

LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY

13.1. By registering or providing a Submission to a Competition, the Participant agrees to release, discharge and hold harmless the Organizer and its partners, representatives and judges from any claims, losses, damages, expenses and liabilities (including attorney’s fees and settlement fees) arising out of the involvement of Participant in a Competition, the provision of any Submission, any exploitation of Submission by the Organizer, including any infringement of Intellectual Property Rights, or any other activities of Participant related to a Competition.

CLAIMS AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEDURE

14.1. Informal Resolution The Participant agrees to first attempt to resolve any dispute, claim, or controversy informally by contacting the Organizer at [email protected]. The parties shall use reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute in good faith before initiating arbitration.

14.2. Agreement to Binding Arbitration Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Competition, the Portal, or any related services, including the validity, interpretation, performance, breach, or termination thereof, shall be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration.

14.3. Arbitration Institution and Rules Arbitration shall be conducted under the Rules of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Rules) in force at the time the Notice of Arbitration is submitted.

14.4. Seat, Language, and Procedure The seat (legal place) of arbitration shall be Andorra. The arbitration proceedings shall be conducted in English. The arbitral tribunal shall consist of one (1) arbitrator unless the ICC Court determines otherwise in accordance with the ICC Rules. The arbitral award shall be final and binding on the parties.

14.5. Enforcement The arbitral award may be enforced in any jurisdiction pursuant to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (New York Convention, 1958).

14.6. Limited Court Intervention Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking interim, conservatory, or injunctive relief before the competent courts of Andorra where necessary to protect intellectual property rights or prevent unlawful conduct, pending constitution of the arbitral tribunal. If arbitration is found unenforceable under mandatory applicable consumer protection law, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Andorra.

14.7. Waiver of Class and Representative Actions All disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis only. The Participant expressly waives any right to bring, join, or participate in any class action, collective action, representative proceeding, or consolidated arbitration. No arbitration shall be consolidated with any other proceeding without the express written consent of the Organizer.

14.8. Waiver of Jury Trial To the extent court proceedings are permitted under these Terms, the Participant and the Organizer waive any right to trial by jury.

COMMUNICATION

15.1. Communication pertaining to competition queries and announcements will be exclusively conducted via official email channels, distinguished by the @buildner.com domain. This ensures the integrity and official status of all communication.

15.2. Organizer will engage in communication solely with the designated Team Leader of each participating team. This protocol is established to maintain streamlined and effective communication.

15.3. Where SMS notifications are available as an optional service, they are to be considered ancillary to primary email communication. Organizer is not liable for any repercussions stemming from Participants' non-receipt of SMS notifications, including impacts on competition entry submissions or related actions. Participants are advised to rely on email as the primary communication channel.

CONCLUSION

16.1. These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Competition and constitute the entire agreement between the Participant and the Organizer regarding the Competition. By registering for the Competition and/or submitting a Submission, the Participant confirms that he/she has fully read, understood, and agrees to be bound by these Terms. These Terms govern the original Competition, its Awards, any Medal qualification arising from it, and the Assignment under Section 12. They also govern Medal qualification, automatic entry, review and replacement entries, and Medal monetary-prize eligibility, payment, disqualification, tax responsibility, and recovery as expressly set out in Sections 11.7 and 11.8. The applicable edition-specific Medal rules apply subject to Section 11.7.8.

16.2. The Organizer reserves the right to amend, modify, supplement, or update these Terms at any time. Any such amendments will take effect upon publication on the Portal. Continued participation in the Competition after publication of amended Terms constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

16.3. The Organizer may suspend, postpone, or cancel the Competition at its sole discretion in cases of force majeure, unforeseen circumstances, technical failures, unlawful interference, insufficient number of Submissions, or any other circumstances that, in the Organizer’s judgment, prevent proper administration of the Competition. In such cases, Participants will be notified through the Portal.

16.4. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any Participant or Participant Team that violates these Terms, attempts to manipulate the registration or evaluation process, engages in plagiarism, infringes third-party intellectual property rights, submits fraudulent or misleading information, engages in AN+ misuse or chargeback misconduct, fails to comply with verification requirements, or otherwise acts in a manner inconsistent with the integrity of the Competition.

16.5. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Any invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed replaced with a valid and enforceable provision that most closely reflects the original intent.

16.6. Governing Law and Exclusive Dispute Resolution These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Andorra, without regard to conflict of law principles. All disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of or relating to the Competition, the Portal, or these Terms shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration in accordance with Section 14 of these Terms. Court proceedings shall be permitted only where arbitration is not legally enforceable or where interim or injunctive relief is required to protect intellectual property rights or prevent unlawful conduct. In such cases, the competent courts of Andorra shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

16.7. When making changes to the current wording of these Terms, the date of the last amendment shall be indicated on the Portal.

16.8. The new wording of the Terms shall enter into force from the moment of its posting on the Portal.

16.9. The Participant may address any questions to the Organizer at: [email protected].
