Buildner is excited to announce the winners of the "Portugal Elderly Home" Architecture Competition. This international competition invited architects and designers to envision a retirement home in Portugal that could comfortably accommodate 60 residents and ten support staff, with a focus on accessibility and innovative design solutions.

After careful evaluation by a distinguished jury panel, the following winners were selected: Natalia Maslennikova, Sara Martins, and Alecsandra Trofin from Portugal received the 1st and Client Favorite Prize for their project "Casa das Oliveiras." Their design beautifully integrates with the natural surroundings, featuring a tiered development embedded within the hillside and a central open courtyard.

Atelier L'abri from Canada claimed the 2nd Prize for their project "Jardim do Sobreiro." Their design promotes an active lifestyle while incorporating sustainable principles to minimize solar heat gain, with a thoughtfully designed terraced garden. Dian Luo, Xiang Liu, and Guisong Zhang from China were awarded the 3rd Prize for their project "The Terrace." Their design showcases an M-shaped building with outdoor gardens, maximizing connections to the surroundings and providing a serene living environment.

Buildner extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and expresses gratitude to the participants for their remarkable contributions in addressing the needs of the aging population and pushing the boundaries of architectural design for elderly care.
