The Portugal Olive Guest House competition, a captivating collaboration between Buildner and the esteemed Verde family - traditional olive oil makers based in central Portugal, has reached an exciting conclusion. The competition invited architects and designers to create plans for a guest house on the Verde family property, offering a picturesque vacation spot surrounded by serene small farm fields and majestic mountains, where guests could savor the exquisite olive oil that the family is renowned for.

After careful evaluation by the distinguished jury panel, the following winners were selected: The 1st prize was awarded to Martina Costa, Giorgia Ferretti, Emiliano Barbani, and Ruggiero Scommegna (Italy) for their project A-Casa, which stands as a distinguished architectural landmark, embodying dual concepts - an identity related to its site and a haven of comfort, expertly crafted with local materials and techniques.

The 2nd prize and Student Award were presented to Karolina Rorat and Ewa Maniak from Warsaw University of Technology for their Olive Hearth, described as a windmill gracefully blending with the site's sloping landscape, constructed using typical Portuguese bio-based mudbrick adobe and local lime plaster to create a stunning building. Third prize went to Yuxuan Jiang and Lang Lin from China.
