The coffee kiosk is designed to function effectively in the cold climate of Finland. It serves both as a place to buy hot beverages and as a gathering space for people. The design focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere, offering comfort to individuals looking for a break from the chill outside.

Design Elements

The kiosk consists of two main parts: a compact working box and a larger area for customers. The working box is built for one barista and includes everything needed for taking orders and making coffee. This layout helps the barista serve customers efficiently in a confined space.

Customer Interaction

The setup encourages interaction between the barista and patrons. People can see the coffee-making process, which enhances their experience. This visibility creates a connection and makes the visit feel more personal, turning a simple coffee purchase into a shared moment.

Material and Aesthetic Choices

Untreated wooden beams are used to create an open and inviting space for customers. This choice of material helps create a warm environment. The kiosk's exterior features colorful patterns and textures inspired by Finnish design. These design elements not only add visual appeal but can also be changed to match different locations or contexts.

Functional Adaptability

The kiosk is designed to be portable and adaptable. It can be moved to various places, such as parks or busy streets. Customers have the option to sit inside or outside, depending on their preference. This flexibility allows the kiosk to fit well into its surroundings while fostering social interaction.

The careful choice of colors and textures, combined with an effective layout, makes it a cozy destination during the cold Finnish winter, inviting people to gather and enjoy a warm drink together.
