04
Spiral ramp shape creates a unique visitor experience.
05
Strategic placement enhances ecological awareness of the wetland ecosystem.
ALMANZAR is an architectural project designed as a panoramic lookout situated in the Al Wathba Wetlands. The structure serves as a platform for visitors to engage with the landscape, elevating the experience of natural observation. The design emphasizes accessibility, incorporating a gently sloping ramp that facilitates navigation for all users.

The architectural scheme consists of a 12-meter high structure, featuring a spiraled ramp that leads to a viewing platform. This ramp has a diameter of 23.4 meters and a height of approximately 11.9 meters, allowing for an unobstructed view of the wetlands and offering a comprehensive 365-degree perspective. The integration of the platform into its environment highlights the relationship between human activity and natural ecosystems. ALMANZAR focuses on sustainability and user experience, utilizing materials that provide durability and a cohesive aesthetic.

Innovative Accessibility Features
A notable aspect of ALMANZAR is its commitment to inclusivity through barrier-free design. The ramp has a 5-degree inclination, making it easy to navigate for individuals with mobility impairments. This thoughtful design approach ensures that everyone can take advantage of the viewing opportunities, fostering an inclusive connection between visitors and the natural landscape.

The structure’s form incorporates smooth curves and lines that mirror organic shapes found in nature. This design language enhances the overall experience and establishes a dialogue between architecture and its surroundings. The selection of materials, including steel for the superstructure and aluminum for decking, ensures both strength and lightness, contributing to the project's aesthetic quality while minimizing environmental impact.

Sustainable Material Selection
ALMANZAR employs materials that promote sustainability while ensuring structural integrity. The choice of steel offers strength to withstand environmental conditions, while aluminum decking presents a lightweight option that provides ease of maintenance and longevity. These materials reflect contemporary architectural practices aimed at harmonizing structures with their natural contexts.

This project not only serves as a lookout point but also functions as an educational platform that raises awareness about the ecological significance of the Al Wathba Wetlands. ALMANZAR strategically merges architecture with environmental education, thereby enhancing public understanding of the region's biodiversity.

For a comprehensive understanding of the ALMANZAR project, including detailed architectural plans, sections, and innovative design ideas, readers are encouraged to explore the full project presentation.
