The Mango Vinyl Hub is an architectural project located in Cēsis, Latvia, designed as a multifunctional cultural center that integrates artistic, commercial, and social functions. Serving as a focal point for the community, the hub combines exhibition spaces, artisan workshops, culinary venues, and co-working environments, promoting collaboration and creativity within the local context.

The design incorporates the preservation and adaptive reuse of existing structures, emphasizing sustainability through thoughtful material choices and spatial organization. This approach not only respects the historical context of Cēsis but also enhances the functionality of the hub by creating seamless connections between diverse spaces.

Unique Design Approaches and Materiality
One of the standout features of the Mango Vinyl Hub is its innovative use of perforated brass panels for the façade. These panels are not only aesthetically appealing but also functionally significant, allowing natural light to filter into the interior spaces while referencing the artistic heritage associated with vinyl records. This design element effectively merges form and function, offering an engaging visual identity for the project.

The architectural layout emphasizes an open and inviting atmosphere, with a central atrium that facilitates movement and connectivity among various zones. The project integrates large glass windows, promoting transparency and establishing a strong visual relationship with the adjacent outdoor areas. By prioritizing open, interactive spaces, the design fosters a sense of community among users.

Functional Areas and Their Significance
The hub is organized into distinct functional areas that cater to various community needs. Public squares serve as gathering places for events and performances, encouraging social interaction among residents and visitors. Live/work artist apartments provide essential living space for creators, allowing them to engage fully with their art and the surrounding community.

Artisan workshops, galleries, and retail spaces showcase local craftsmanship, contributing to the economic vitality of the area. The inclusion of dining options enhances the cultural experience, allowing for culinary exploration alongside artistic endeavors. The design reflects a comprehensive understanding of the community's needs, ensuring that the hub operates as a vital resource for both cultural engagement and economic development.

The Mango Vinyl Hub exemplifies a contemporary approach to architecture that balances sustainability, community engagement, and artistic expression.
