The Iceland Movie Pavilion is located in an environment that enhances its functional and visual qualities. Serving as a multifunctional entertainment space, it fits naturally into the landscape of Iceland. The design focuses on user experience and easy access, creating a friendly atmosphere for all visitors.

Design Concept

The design revolves around a clear layout that supports the cinema experience while promoting social interaction. A dedicated parking lot allows for straightforward visitor access, leading guests toward a prominent entrance. This entrance acts as a welcoming transition into the various spaces within the building.

Spatial Organization

Inside, the layout is carefully planned to fulfill different functions. The cinema hall is at the center, surrounded by essential areas like a counter, bar, and kitchen. This setup enhances the experience for moviegoers by providing nearby amenities, ensuring that refreshments are easily available during their visit.

Sustainable Integration

A key feature of the pavilion is its green roof, which plays a role in reducing environmental impact. This roof improves energy efficiency and helps the building blend into its natural surroundings. In this way, the green roof adds both practicality and visual appeal, reflecting current architectural trends that focus on sustainability and harmony with nature.

Visitor Amenities

The pavilion includes lounge areas that promote social interaction, offering comfortable spaces for people to relax before and after films. Practical elements like maintenance spaces and toilets are also present, contributing to visitor comfort and ensuring smooth operations throughout the facility.

The design emphasizes functionality while being conscious of the environment. This approach is shown in the thoughtful inclusion of communal spaces, allowing for connections among visitors in an inviting setting.
