Elevated Structure with Cold-Formed Steel and Expansive Glass in Volcanic Landscape

Project in-detail

An elevated structure of cold-formed steel and large glass facades seamlessly integrates with the surrounding volcanic landscape, creating a multifunctional coffee shop and exhibition space that enhances community engagement and appreciation for nature.
5 key facts about this project
01
Elevated design enhances views of the surrounding volcanic landscape.
02
Cold-formed steel provides structural integrity while minimizing weight.
03
Large glass facades facilitate natural lighting and visual connection with nature.
04
Sustainable materials, including recyclable components, reduce environmental impact.
05
Multi-functional layout promotes community interaction and cultural engagement.
The Vision Roastery project is an architectural endeavor designed to serve as a multifunctional coffee shop and exhibition space. It aims to create a strong connection between users and the surrounding volcanic landscape, enhancing the visitor experience through architecture that promotes interaction with both nature and community. The structure is thoughtfully situated to provide expansive views while offering an environment that encourages relaxation and contemplation. This project utilizes a blend of sustainable materials, innovative design concepts, and functional spaces to effectively meet the needs of its users while respecting the natural context.

Integration with Landscape and Environment
One of the distinguishing features of the Vision Roastery is its integration with the surrounding landscape. The building is elevated to enhance sightlines toward the volcanic terrain, creating a visual dialogue between architecture and nature. Large glass facades are employed throughout the design to facilitate natural light and maintain a connection with the exterior environment, allowing users to experience the dynamic natural beauty that defines the locale. The curvature of the structure mimics natural formations, fostering a sense of unity with the site.

Innovative Material Choices and Sustainability
The architectural design emphasizes sustainability through the careful selection of materials. Key materials include cold-formed steel beams, sandwich panels for exterior cladding, and drywall panels for interior spaces. These materials were chosen not only for their functional qualities, such as weather resistance and durability, but also for their ability to minimize the environmental footprint of the project. The use of recyclable materials reflects a commitment to sustainability while also enhancing the visual and structural aspects of the design.

Spatial Configuration and Functionality
The interior layout of the Vision Roastery is designed for versatility. The main areas include a coffee shop, exhibition zone, and information point, each serving a distinct purpose while contributing to the overall visitor experience. The coffee shop area is arranged to optimize views and encourage social interactions, with seating positioned for optimal engagement. The exhibition space serves as a cultural hub, allowing for curated displays that connect users with the surrounding environment. The information point is strategically located to guide visitors through the architectural experience, reinforcing the relationship between the space and its context.
