The design project located in Kathmandu draws inspiration from the cultural significance of the Machhendranath Chariot. Its structure emphasizes movement, demonstrated by a series of wheels that are arranged to appear dynamic and engaging. As a public kiosk, it aims to create an inviting space for both locals and visitors, encouraging interaction through fun activities while reflecting the heritage of its surroundings.

Conceptual Framework

The design is rooted in the idea of ‘Fun Theory,’ which suggests that playful elements can enhance user experience. By including a dart game within the kiosk, it invites people to actively participate and interact with the space. This feature not only brings enjoyment but also promotes social connections among users.

Functional Features

A significant element of the design is its focus on practical functions. The back of the kiosk presents a magnetic dart panel shaped like a world map, offering an area for play while serving as a collector for used cups. This combination encourages recycling and maintains a tidy urban area, highlighting a mindful approach to environmental responsibility.

Sustainability Considerations

Sustainability is an essential aspect of the design. Solar stripes are integrated to provide energy for the kiosk's lighting, reducing the need for conventional power sources. This renewable energy solution reflects an awareness of ecological issues and enhances the kiosk’s role as a responsible feature in the community.

The arrangement of wheels captures a sense of movement, inviting users to engage with the structure and fostering a lively atmosphere. The design stands as a connection between the city’s history and its modern urban landscape.
