The Ozolini Retreat, located close to Lake Bezdibene, features the Komorebi Silent Meditation Forest Cabins designed for quiet reflection and mindfulness. This setting is surrounded by dense Spruce and Birch trees, enhancing the sense of peace. The design aims to connect visitors with the natural landscape, providing spaces that encourage relaxation and contemplation.

Architecture Concept

The main idea of the design focuses on creating a dialogue between visitors and nature. By offering areas meant for meditation and quiet thought, the architecture promotes engagement with the surroundings. Windows and skylights are used to allow natural light to fill the spaces, enhancing the overall sensory experience for those who stay.

Materials and Structure

Charred timber is the primary material used for the cabins, chosen for its durability and suitability to the forest environment. This material choice reflects an intention to minimize impact on the landscape. Inside, light plywood creates bright and neutral interiors. Together, these materials help the project blend into its ecological surroundings.

Spatial Layout

The cabin interiors are designed with an open layout that reduces the use of full-height walls, keeping them mainly in areas like bathrooms. This approach promotes easy movement and visual connections throughout the living spaces. Large skylights and carefully placed windows frame views of the forest, encouraging visitors to connect with the outside environment.

Experience Design

A significant aspect of the cabins is the meditation space, which is thoughtfully positioned to provide forest views. This area highlights the importance of reflection, while the inclusion of a small kitchen allows for communal meal preparation. The design also addresses the management of light and adaptable spaces, ensuring a calm and functional atmosphere for those using the cabins.

Visitors find themselves surrounded by details that reflect the nature of the landscape, such as windows that open up the views, inviting the forest into the living space and enhancing the experience of tranquility.
