Kwang Hoon Lee, So Jung Lee and Jeongwoo Kim from South Korea

We are young designers based in Boston and Seoul. Kwang graduated from Harward GSD and So Jung is currently pursuing her Masters degree in architecture at MIT. Jeongwoo is a Bachelor of architecture candidate at Korea University in Seoul.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been involved?

We are team of individuals who se architectural focus vary in terms of scale and design phases. Kwang has acquired his masters degree in urban design and has worked on large-scale urban projects, while So Jung has an interior design background. Jeongwoo has more experience with construction phases. We have been trying to integrate and bridge various scales of architecture, from interior to urban scale.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

As young architects, competitions are greate opportunities to test out your imaginary ideas and visually communicate with the world. We also learn a lot from competitions through collaborating with the team as our different ideas constantly benefit each other.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide
whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture
competitions?

Just try it and enjoy the ride!
